Does scrolling content on a fixed screen create the mindset of a fleeting existence?

Our fleeting existence
Our fleeting existence

It has now become the habit of billions around the world – young and old – to get an understanding of all things through scrolling content.  While the screen remains fixed in place at all times and even disappears from consciousness, unless one looks away, there is a hypnotizing of the mind.  Information is flowing constantly and we are going through it endlessly.  Text keeps moving up or down, short videos a few seconds long play automatically, and then we move on to something else.  What has all this done?  It has altered our understanding of the very existence of us, other creatures, and of this planet.  We have come to understand all things to be fleeting.  Our lives are not permanent and we are seeking to gain as much as possible.  However, in all this gaining of information and even of tangible things, we are constantly reminded of our fleeting existence.1  How has this affected the human thinking? The conflicts and infighting of humans will end

Peace will overcome conflicts
Peace will overcome conflicts

To look upon the conflicts of mankind is an experience of great dismay.  Yes, there are those who have firmly come to the conclusion that to be in a state of perpetual conflict and infighting is the human destiny.  For we seem to have evolved from the lower state of existence through our struggles, developed into primates and finally have culminated into our present human state.  We have, therefore, come to where we are by virtue of our struggles and we need to continue to struggle to get to where we are finally supposed to get.  Conflicts and infighting are hence, the very normal and expected order of the human day.  Having dismissed all suppositions of theory, dismissed the uncertainties of Charles Darwin and not fully satisfied with the religious narratives, we are now intellectually satisfied with science.  As nothing more than higher animals, it is our duty to fight.  It is our duty to recognize those fellow animals who will join us in the fight as members of our tribe, our race, our nation, our religion etc.  We will fight; then we will come upon an uncertain peace; then, we will resume fighting to maintain the semblance of peace of our fickle constructs.  This is the great human achievement – a life of uncertainty and perpetual fear. The exclusive focus on physical things will create an imbalance

Physical existence is only one layer of our reality
Physical existence is only one layer of our reality

There has been a noticeable insistence on physical things in recent times.  It has been very deliberate, systematic, and evident of great intelligence.  Who are its proponents is not the most important thing.  One could, of course, examine the sayings of modern, atheist thinkers like Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins.  Listening to such intelligent men and the way they reason is a pleasure.  In that pleasure are the seduction and the feeling to the listener of great empowerment.  One, no doubt, feels empowered by the way religion is proven to defy logic, reason, and even common sense.  It is all fine up to that point.  It is when the alternative becomes clearly visible that problems emerge.  Having abandoned all traditional basis for morality, one then has to start afresh and without recognizing any authority in the pursuit of a fresh set of rules and laws and principles to define what is moral.  In my opinion, if one is prepared to take a firsthand look at the final destination, the possible objective of a Godless thinking, it equips the mind with the necessary farsightedness.  When the entire focus is on physical things, the extremism built into human nature that emerges from undivided attention then seeks to find the ultimate in pleasures. Is it possible to have development without taking sides?

Development through united effort is a choice
Development through united effort is a choice

One would normally consider the taking of sides as being counter-intuitive to the idea of development.  Whatever resources we have, we would want to use them in a planned, organized, and united effort to get the best possible results.  There is any number of examples of this.  In a family, when the father, mother, and children are able to work together toward maintaining peace it helps everyone.  In a classroom of students, it only takes a few to disrupt the session for everyone.  Those who do are deprived of the answers, and those who wish to learn are also deprived of their opportunity.  Furthermore, it brings no joy to the teacher or lecturer to have to focus on disciplining some students and be distracted from teaching.  When a surgery is being performed, is that the time for nurses and doctors to have arguments over anesthesia or surgical instruments?  There are many examples which prove that success or development depends upon unity. How compulsion and desperation are driving the conversation toward extremes

Conversation could liberate and empower if it has true power
Conversation could liberate and empower if it has true power

A conversation has the power to liberate a human being.  It has the power to set free the mind from bondage.  Even one exchange of ideas is able to give a new direction to the thinking of a person, or the chance of realization.  Why would anyone want to do so?  The real reason has to be a concern for the other person, or on a larger scale, a concern for society.  When conversations emanate from such concern and are also able to provide hope to others, there is indeed the prospect of growth.
