Albert Live (Albert King, 1977)

Albert Nelson—better known as Albert King—was an American guitarist and singer often regarded as one of the greatest and most influential blues musicians of all time. Nicknamed “The Velvet Bulldozer” for his smooth singing voice and imposing 6 ft 4 in stature, King’s presence was as commanding as his guitar tone. His legacy has been recognized with induction into the Blues Hall of Fame (1983) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2013). In 2023, Rolling Stone ranked him number 22 on their list of 250 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

Albert Live captures King in his element—on stage, delivering fiery solos and soulful vocals with the raw energy that defined his career. Originally released in 1977, this live album showcases his mastery of the Gibson Flying V and his ability to turn every performance into a sermon of blues power.
